All PPLD locations have the following equipment for patron use:

  • Large-type keyboard
  • Track ball mouse

East Library and Penrose Library provide assistive technology workstations with the following features:

Hardware

  • Adjustable table and wrist rests
  • Large-print keyboard
  • Track ball mouse
  • Headphones and microphone
  • Speakers
  • Brailler (Penrose only)

Software

  • JAWS: Screen reader for blind and low vision users
  • Dragon NaturallySpeaking: Voice recognition program. The user can control the computer by speaking to it.
  • ZoomText: Magnifier/reader software
